Selecting a Paint Color can be Daunting

Ever wonder why a color you found on Pinterest looks great in *their* home but not yours?

Paint colors transform dramatically based on your home's unique conditions:

  • Paint color undertones (those subtle hints of other colors)

  • Light reflectance value (LRV)

  • Other colors, finishes, and features in the room

  • Lighting - both natural and artificial

Here's the tricky part: Northern exposure cools colors down, southern light warms them up, and artificial evening light changes everything again.

Real example: A client's builder used Sherwin-Williams Sea Salt throughout their main floor. It looked fine... until their furniture arrived. Suddenly, the living room looked green while the bedroom looked blue, with the same paint. The color has blue undertones, but different directional lighting altered the perception of it.

Our Process Makes Color Selection Easy

  • We have an easy questionnaire for you to fill out to help kickstart the process. (Note: If you want the home’s feng shui considered, we will need a compass reading and the date of construction.)

  • You will upload photos of the home’s interior or exterior (depending on what you want painted) to your client portal.

    These photos aid in understanding lighting and any existing fixtures/finishes we need to coordinate with.

  • We email you 2 different moodboard options. Select your favorite and we will start selecting specific color samples.

  • We work with you in determining your paint manufacturer preference and assist in ordering and sending samples.

    You will receive a pdf with helpful information we’ve compiled regarding paint, as well as instructions on how to display samples in your home.

    Take note of how the colors change in different lighting throughout the day.

  • Together we finalize your palette. The package includes up to 3 paint colors.

  • You will receive an emailed PDF specification sheet with your color palette: paint name, vendor, finish, room/location and product link.
